Highland Elementary School has made the finishing touches on their playground projects.
The Pre-K playground on the west side of the building was expanded this fall. The asphalt was redone, and new equipment was installed.
These developments were part of the second round of playground projects at Highland Elementary. A new playground was constructed on the east side of the building in 2020, due to a $3.7 million bond received by the school.
Approximately $700,000 remained from the original project, and those funds were used to install turf at the east playground, as well as add new basketball hoops and diagram games on the west side.
