The Highland Huskies kept their strong start to the girls’ wrestling season going by finishing third out of a nine-team field at Fort Madison last night. Leading the way for the Huskies was junior Abbie Grout, who won a second straight 100-pound weight-class title after pinning her last two opponents and improving to 6-2 on the season. Highland senior Mackenzie McFarland moved up to 8-2 after finishing second at 110 lbs with a pair of pins. Junior Angelina Roling also finished second at 120 after splitting four bouts, while sophomore Lilly Barre ended up third at 125 after being pinned in two of her three matchups. Highland will try to keep up its excellent pace to begin the season tonight when the Huskies are part of a tournament tonight in Washington.
