The harvest season came to a close during the week ending November 27, with 6.2 days suitable for farmers to wrap up their fieldwork, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service. Tillage and fertilizer applications continued, with few fields remaining to be harvested.

Topsoil moisture condition rated 23 percent very short, 33 percent short, 43 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. This is the highest short to very short rating for topsoil moisture to end the season since 2012. Subsoil moisture rated 30 percent very short, 35 percent short, 34 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.

Livestock conditions are good, as calves continue to be weaned and cattle graze on corn stalks.
