Columbus Junction will celebrate the holidays with their Family Night on Wednesday, December 7. From 5-7 p.m. in downtown Columbus Junction, guests will be treated to food, fun, and friends.
Event organizer, Todd Salazar, is excited for the festivities and encourages the community to attend. “I just hope everyone comes out and has a great night.” he said. “We have a list of great things to do here and we just hope everyone enjoys it.”
Adults and children have the opportunity to take part in a scavenger hunt across participating businesses on Main Street. There they will have to find the elf to get their card stamped. Those with stamps from 80% of the businesses will be entered into a drawing for great prizes. Cards can be picked up and dropped off at either Washington State Bank, or Community Bank & Trust.
Other activities throughout the evening include games, cookie and ornament decorating, and caroling from the Columbus Music Department, with special appearances by Santa Clause as well as the Grinch.
The event is free of charge, however the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary will be accepting free-will donations at their soup supper. Raffle tickets will also be sold, with proceeds going towards next year’s Family Night, as well as the new playground equipment fund for the city.
