Keota Eagles’ boys basketball got another big win to remain undefeated, edging out conference rival Iowa Valley 48-46 last night. The Eagles saw their 14-10 lead after one quarter turn into a three-point deficit at hafltime. But Keota would rally to go in front 37-35 at the end of the third period and would hold on down the stretch from there.

Junior Sawyer Stout continued to flex his scoring prowess by pouring in a game-high 18 points to lead the Eagles. Junior Evan Vittetoe dominated the boards with 13 rebounds and added seven points, while point guard Cole Kindred finished with nine points, five boards, two assists, two steals and two blocks.

The Keota girls lost their game with Iowa Valley 44-40, as they could never fully rally from trailing 18-8 in the first quarter. While they fall to 1-5, the Eagle boys are now 5-0. Both teams will be back in action Friday night at Tri-County.
