A Mount Pleasant man was killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday. According to the Iowa State Patrol, shortly before 3p.m, 68-year-old Norman Hirschy was driving eastbound in the 2500 block of 260th St. near New London when his 2000 Toyota Tacoma crossed the centerline colliding with a 2006 Toyota Tundra driven by 57-year-old Sheila Wilkerson of New London. Hirschy was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Wilkerson was injured in the collision and transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by air. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the New London Police Department, the New London Fire Department, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Henry County Ambulance Service, Henry County Medical Examiner, and Olson-Powell Funeral Chapel.
