The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk archery teams took shooters from all levels to the Cedar Rapids Prairie tournament Saturday, and returned with individual hardware. In the bullseye contest, the Golden Hawk high schoolers did not post a team score but were led individually by Elijah Statler in 33rd with a score of 269 that included 13 tens. The Golden Hawk girls saw Josee Mueller finish 38th with a 262 and six tens. In middle school bull, the Hawks were fourth of seven teams with a 3033, Solon won the meet with a 3101. Tommy Miller stole the show for the Hawks. He took the individual boys championship with a score of 272 that included 12 tens. Preston Ford finished 10th in the boys contest with a 261. In the girls contest, Lael Seale was third with a 275 and 12 tens for the top Golden Hawk performance. The elementary Hawks did not post a team score but were led individually by Lara Brenneman in the girls contest, placing third with a 237 and four tens. Beckett Miller led the Golden Hawk boys with a 205 with one ten for 13th.
In the 3D shoot, The Golden Hawk high school team finished fifth of five schools with a 1526, Prairie won their home tournament with a 1669. Individually, Elijah Statler fired a 290 that included 22 tens to claim the boys championship. Josee Mueller led the girls in 14th with a 260 that included 10 tens. The Golden Hawk middle schoolers were third of five teams with a 1530, Cedar Rapids Prairie won their home team title with a 1542. Tommy Miller completed his sweep of gold, taking the middle school boys title with a 265 that included 13 tens. The Hawks also got top 10s from Preston Ford sixth with a 253, Jack Sorrell eighth with a 251 and Nickolas Kelley 10th with a 248. Lael Seale led the Golden Hawk girls with a runner-up score of 276 that included 16 tens. The Golden Hawk elementary shooters did not post a team score. Individually, Lara Brenneman was overall runner-up for the girls with a 189, Beckett Miller was individual runner-up for the boys with a 176. The Hawks will not shoot again until after winter break.
