The Washington County Board of Supervisors reviewed the lease agreement with HACAP at 2175 Lexington Blvd. The lease agreement is set for a period of two years. More details of the lease were discussed, “What’s being proposed is $4500 a month beginning January 1st of 2023.  We just did away with what was in the old lease in regards to the utility calculation and just simplified it.” HACAP has been in Washington county since 1981; they are a community action agency serving nine counties in Eastern Iowa. They embrace the philosophy of “a help up, not a handout” in their commitment to empower and improve the lives of families living with the everyday barriers of poverty. This lease will take effect beginning on January 1st.
