On Wednesday, December 14, Sunrise Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Winfield was recognized as a Best Nursing Home for long-term care for 2022-2023 by U.S. News and World Report. The ratings have been awarded for the last 13 years.

Skilled nursing facilities across the country were assessed on criteria such as registered nursing staff consistency, use of anti-psychotic drugs, and success in preventing emergency room and hospital visits. Of the more than 15,000 facilities rated, Sunrise Terrace is part of the 16 percent designated as a Best Nursing Home.

Administrator for Sunrise Terrace, Lindsay Remick is proud to receive the recognition, and credits the staff with making it happen. “It’s such a big honor when you look into the number of nursing homes that were recognized for this.” she said. “Our staff works really, really hard. They are the backbone to this honor.”

Additionally, Sunrise Terrace received a five-star rating from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and is ranked in the top 10 out of 423 facilities in Iowa.
