Mid-Prairie’s Amara Jones has brought the hustle to the basketball court all year for the Golden Hawks. The senior leads all of Class 3A with 45 steals on the season, including 10 swipes in a win at West Branch in early December. As a team, the Golden Hawks rank third in 3A with 128 takeaways.

Jones also likes to give her teammates a helping hand. She ranks fourth in Class 3A with 50 assists, including a pair of 10 assist performances in games against Anamosa and state ranked West Liberty. The Golden Hawks went into Christmas break at 5-5 overall, 3-2 in the River Valley Conference and open the second half of the year, Monday, January 2nd at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines against the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs.
