The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team has made a living the first half of the season going and getting it on the glass. The Golden Hawks lead all of Class 3A with 156 offensive rebounds. They have 388 total rebounds, second most in 3A and 219 boards on the defensive side, fifth in Iowa. Mid-Prairie is led on the glass by senior forward Landry Pacha with 35 offensive boards, ninth most in 3A and 71 total rebounds 10th most.
Mid-Prairie has outrebounded every opponent they have faced so far this year, with a season high 49 boards in a win over Fairfield to open the season. Pacha’s best game of the year on the glass came as part of a 10 point 14 rebound double double against top 10 Iowa City Regina. The Golden Hawks are 5-5 on the season and 3-2 in the River Valley Conference. They start the second half of the season Monday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines against Denison-Schleswig.
