The Riverside City Council met in regular session on Monday December 19. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy, Randy Tinnes, spoke first, providing the council with a monthly crime report. He was followed by the wastewater report from PeopleService Inc.

Ann Valentine and Sara O’Donnell of Paws & More Animal Shelter gave a recap of their year, while also presenting a 28E agreement for animal control services in Riverside. The council plans to review the proposed agreement in future meetings.

Rob Decker, with Axiom Consultants, presented project updates to the council. The 3rd Street construction has halted for the winter months, with hopes to finish the project by early spring. A tie for wastewater plant bids were received from Woodruff Construction and Spectra Build. The council will speak with representatives from both organizations before coming to a decision.

The council approved William Sueppel as City Attorney from January 1 through June 30 of next year. Participation in the Carbon Credit program with Trees Forever was approved, as well as an application for the 2022 Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant in the amount of $3,520.

The Riverside City Council’s next meeting will be January 3 at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
