Those with the new year’s resolution to get more involved in their communities have that opportunity through Compassus. They are seeking volunteers in southeast Iowa for 2023.

In addition to hospice, Compassus provides palliative care and in-home services to individuals across the state. Support for families is also available through social workers, as well as their bereavement coordinator

Any individual 18 years of age or older can join as an office, bereavement, or patient volunteer. Schedules are flexible, and in-depth orientation is provided. Volunteer Coordinator for Compassus, Jill Venden, encourages anyone interested in helping to reach out. “It makes such a big difference knowing that someone with some positive thoughts is in that room with you,” she said.
