On December 27, at approximately 12:50 p.m. the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Old Highway 34 in Mount Pleasant. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 2006 Ford F-150, driven by 48-year-old Brodie Rodgers was traveling southbound on Franklin Avenue when it collided with a 2020 Kia Nitro entering the intersection, driven by 60-year-old Sara Leblanc.

Impact from the collision resulted in both vehicles coming to rest in the southwest ditch. Both drivers were transported from the scene via ambulance. As a result of the investigation, Rodgers was cited for failure to wear a safety belt, failure to prove security against liability, and operating a non-registered vehicle. LeBlanc was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the Mount Pleasant Fire Department, Henry County EMS, and the Henry County Secondary Roads Department.
