They had to sweat, but in the end, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team left North Linn Tuesday with a pair of dual wins over Center Point-Urbana and the home Lynx. The Golden Hawks and Stormin’ Pointers finished all of the action on the mat tied at 42, but Mid-Prairie snuck by CPU on tiebreaking criteria H, the eighth tiebreaker, first match points, 10-6 to get the win. The Hawks got victories over the Pointers in contested matches from Collin O’Rourke at 126lbs by fall, Tucker Miller at 132 by fall, Quinn Callahan at 220 by fall and Burke Berry at 285 by fall.

Against the home team, the Hawks were a 42-36 winner. Mid-Prairie got wins against North Linn in contested matches from Mason Howe at 126lbs by fall, Kaden Meader at 170 by fall, Quinn Callahan at 220 by fall and Burke Berry at 285 by fall. The sweep helps Mid-Prairie run their dual winning streak to five straight and moves the Hawks record to 9-6 this season. They are back at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman Thursday for Senior Night when they host Anamosa, Cascade and Maquoketa at 5:30p.m.
