WACO is fresh off of a quad meet Thursday where they beat Pekin before falling to Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union and Van Buren. Louden Huisenga leads WACO with a 24-4 overall record. WACO has two ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Gage Samo No. 9 at 106lbs and Huisenga No. 5 at 160lbs according to the latest 1A poll from Iawrestle.com.
The Washington Demons were on the mat Thursday, sweeping a pair of duals from Mt. Pleasant and Muscatine. Washington’s Aaron Boone is No. 6 at 120lbs in the latest 2A rankings from Iawrestle.com.
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks went 2-1 on Senior Night Thursday in Wellman, beating Cascade and Maquoketa before falling to Anamosa. Kaden Meader has racked up a team best 22 wins this season, followed by Mose Yoder with 21.
The Highland Huskies dropped a pair of duals Thursday to Wapello and Mediapolis. The Huskies have two ranked wrestlers in the 1A poll according to Iawrestle.com with Luke Guseman No. 10 at 120lbs and Carlos Valenzuela No. 12 at 132. Valenzuela leads Highland with a 29-1 record. Landon Bell and Brock Thomann each have 18 wins.
Lone Tree dropped three duals Thursday to New London, Burlington Notre Dame and Louisa-Muscatine.
