A Mount Pleasant man has been charged following an altercation that occurred on Friday, January 20.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to reports of two males fighting with a pregnant woman at 1002 W. Saunders Street in Mount Pleasant. Upon arrival, officers located one male and one female. The residents reported that nothing had happened, however after investigating, a child was seen with blood on his head.
The suspect, 27-year-old Terron N. Wilson, attempted to prevent further investigation, fighting with officers. He was subsequently tased, arrested, and transported to the Henry County Jail.
After speaking with residents, police discovered that Wilson had gotten into an altercation with his girlfriend and children present, during which he fired a gun inside the house. Wilson also fought with other family members, obstructed the victim from calling 911, and then gave false information to law enforcement.
Wilson was charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class C felony, control of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony, assault on persons in certain occupations, a class D felony, domestic abuse assault-display or use of a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and interference with official acts, a serious misdemeanor.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department is requesting anyone with more information on the incident to reach out at 319-385-1450. They were assisted on the call by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, and the Department of Human Services.
