The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams make their final regular season road trips tonight when they travel north to Iowa City to meet the rival Regina Regals in a River Valley doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls are 15-5 this season, 9-2 in league play and put their 10-game win streak on the line tonight. They topped Tipton Tuesday in Wellman on Senior Night 58-34. On the season, the Hawks average 54 points per game and give up 42, shooting 38% from the floor, 28% from three and 62% at the line with 36 boards, 12 assists, 14 steals and 16 turnovers per game. Individually, Landry Pacha leads the Hawks with 11 points and eight boards per game, Amara Jones has a team best five assists and four steals per night.

Iowa City Regina is 16-4 overall, 12-1 in the RVC. They have been off since a Friday loss to No. 2 in Class 3A Solon 75-44. The Regals are ranked No. 6 in Class 2A in the final poll of the season from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. This season they score 61 per game and give up 45, shooting 46% from the floor, 35% from three and 61% at the line with 28 boards, 16 assists, 11 steals and 13 turnovers per game. Morgan Miller leads all categories with 18 points, five boards, four assists and three steals per night. Regina escaped Wellman earlier this season with a 47-46 win. A Golden Hawk victory keeps them alive in the conference championship chase, a loss gives the title to Regina.

The Mid-Prairie boys are 10-9 this year, 6-5 in the River Valley after a 51-49 setback against Tipton in Wellman Tuesday. This year the Hawks score 60 points per game and give up 58, shooting 38% from the field, 30% from three and 70% at the line with 31 rebounds, 12 assists, eight steals and 12 turnovers per game. Individually, Camron Pickard scores 15 points per game with four assists per night. Alex Bean averages five boards and two steals.

The Regal boys are 7-12 on the year, 5-8 in conference play. They were beaten by Mount Pleasant Tuesday 69-58. This year, Regina scores 52 points per game and gives up 59, shooting 39% from the floor, 31% from three and 62% at the line with 30 rebounds, 12 assists, six steals and 15 turnovers per game. Individually, Drew Streb leads the way with 13 points and eight boards per night. Eddie Petersen has three assists and one steal per game. Mid-Prairie beat Regina 58-52 earlier this month at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
