The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys basketball team meets the Mediapolis Bulldogs Saturday night in this year’s edition of the Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out. The Ravens are 10-9 overall this year and finished with a 9-6 mark in Superconference play, fifth in the north. They were a 63-38 winner last time out over Highland on the 31st. For the season, the Ravens are scoring 55 points per game and giving up 47, shooting 44% from the floor, 31% from three and 57% at the line with 24 boards, 13 assists, 12 steals and 12 turnovers per game. Individual leaders include Grant Bender with 18 points and six rebounds per night. Luke Schrock averages three assists and three steals per game.
Mediapolis is 9-10 overall this year, 6-8 in Superconference play after a 66-38 win over Van Buren Tuesday. For the year MEPO averages 52 points per game and gives up 51, shooting 40% from the floor, 30% from deep and 59% at the line with 27 rebounds, 14 assists, eight steal and 13 turnovers per game. Individually, Cole Lipper puts up 15 points and six boards per night. Ben Egan has five assists and Jackson Hutcheson two steals. These two teams did not meet during the regular season due to the Bulldog’s move to the south division of the conference, but in both contests last year MEPO was a winner.
