Thirty-one 4-H members involved in the bucket bottle project gathered on February 8th to kick off their project season. Bucket Bottle calf projects can be born between January 1st and April 30th. Members heard from 4-H volunteer project leaders Bob Spenner, Jeff Fair, and Joceline Spenner on the rules, important dates, and health and feeding tips. Bucket Bottle family mentors also answered questions while the youth mentors demonstrated a practice interview to model that component of this project which will happen in July. Youth mentors also showed record book examples. For those who were not able to attend this meeting or decide to join this project later, an identical meeting format and content will be shared again on April 5 at the Extension Office.
