The Keota Eagles continued their excellent boys’ basketball season with a 78-46 victory over North Tama Monday night in the Class 1A District 11 quarterfinals. Already up by nine after the opening quarter, Keota used a 20-9 run to build their lead to 41-24 at halftime and kept rolling from there.
Eagles junior Sawyer Stout again led the scoring attack with 19 points. Junior forward Evan Vittetoe finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals. Sophomore Billie Kindred also dominated in the front court, posting 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals to help Keota win for the 10th consecutive game. At 20-3, the second-seeded Eagles are heading to the District 11 semifinals tomorrow evening, where they will host Belle Plaine.
