The Highland Huskies had their girls’ basketball season come to a close with a 54-20 defeat at the hands of Springville Tuesday night in the Class 1A Region 3 quarterfinals. Springville started the game with a 12-4 first-quarter lead, but Highland played the Orioles closer in the second period and only trailed by 11 at halftime. Ultimately, being on the wrong end of a 20-7 run in the third quarter did the Huskies in, as well as having just seven made field goals.

Highland junior Sarah Burton led the way with 10 points and 15 rebounds, but it would not be enough. The Huskies end the campaign with a record of 10-13. Highland loses graduating seniors Katelyn Waters, Abbi Stransky, Jessica Kraus and Anna Herrig.
