It’s the final day of the 2023 Iowa High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines and seven area wrestlers are alive as they try to climb the podium.

In Class 2A, a pair remain. Washington’s Aaron Boone and Columbus Winfield-Mt. Union’s Russel Coil will both take the mat for consolation semifinals.

In Class 1A, five are in. For the Highland Huskies, Carlos Valenzuela has landed in the consolation semis on Saturday while Luke Guseman will wrestle for seventh. For Sigourney-Keota it’s Jack Clarahan in the consolation semifinals and Reanah Utterback will have a match for seventh place. The WACO Warriors have Gage Samo in consolation semis Saturday.
