The Keota boys basketball team fell short of a district championship Tuesday, dropping the Class 1A District 11 title game to No. 3 Gladbrook-Reinbeck 77-57 at Grinnell. The No. 3 ranked Rebels showed off their firepower most of the night, posting at least 20 points in each of the first three frames, leading 20-14 after one, 41-28 at half and 62-39 after the third. The Eagles won the final period 18-15.

Gladbrook shot 49% on the evening, going 21 of 25 at the line. They outrebounded Keota 32-20, with 18 assists and forced 17 Eagle turnovers. William Kiburis led the Rebels with 33 points. Keota shot 40% from the floor, hitting on seven threes and going a sterling 14 of 15 at the line. Cole Kindred led the way with 15 points, Sawyer Stout chipped in 10. With the loss, the Eagles end the year at 21-4 and as South Iowa Cedar League East Division champs. They say goodbye to seniors Aidan Anderson and Dalton Dodd. Gladbrook-Reinbeck is now 22-2 and will meet 22-2 Lynnville-Sully at substate in Marshalltown Saturday.
