The Washington City Council approved the contract with FEH Design and the Washington Public Library at their meeting on Tuesday. The Council had accepted the proposal at the January 17th meeting for FEH Design for the renovation of a three thousand square foot space in the lower level of the library to create a makerspace area. Mayor Pro Tem Millie Youngquist had this to say on the project. “A discussion and consideration of a resolution approving a contract with FEH Design and Washington Public Library. I think it looks like an exciting development.” This project is a collaboration with a Project Steering committee made up of Library staff, Library and Foundation Board members, and interested members of the public. The total cost of the design portion of the project is $69,500, and this will be funded by the Library’s gift fund.
