The Washington Demon archery teams displayed their dominance this season at the Ottumwa bullseye and 3D tournaments. The Washington high schoolers swept the team titles in the two categories with a 3202 bull score to top second place Cardinal’s 3173, led individually by boys third place finisher Jonathan Moore with a 280 and 14 tens. Landon Messer also made the top 10 placing ninth. For the girls, Allison Rees was third with a 277 including 17 tens. Madison Conway also made the top ten in fifth. In 3D, Washington shot 1602, beating North Mahaska’s 1582, led by Blake Sheetz fourth on the boys side with a 271 and 10 tens. Other Demon top ten boys included Jonathan Moore fifth, and Riley Kasper ninth. For the Demon girls, top finisher was Rees in fifth at 269 with nine tens. Avery Marner was also top ten in seventh.

For the Middle School Demons it was all gold for Washington, winning the bullseye contest with a 3132 to top Ottumwa’s 3020. Washington was led individually by boys champ Ethan Hotchkiss with his 281 and 17 tens. Also going top ten for the boys included Mark Chenoweth third, Caden Higdon fifth, Braydon Clough sixth, Teague Pepper seventh and Caleb Wise 10th. For the girls, Johannah Halvorson was overall champion with a 279 that included a dozen tens. She was joined in the top ten by Charlee Read in third. In 3D, Washington posted a 1586 team score to beat Ottumwa’s 1484. Hotchkiss was boys champ with a 269 including 11 tens. Other Demon top tens included Chenoweth runner-up, Wise fifth, and Clough seventh. Halvorson doubled up on championships winning the girls contest with a 276 and 14 tens. Other Demon top ten finishers included Emma Helfrich runner-up, Read fifth, and Nora Stoutner ninth.

The Lincoln Demons won the bullseye contest with their 2535 over Eddyville-Blakesburg’s 2310. Braxton Rich was the boys champ with a 253 and six tens. He was joined the top ten by Tristen Heisdorffer as runner-up, Jace Helfrich third, and Mason Schneider fifth. Miriam Pierce won the girls trophy with a 242 and six tens. Other Washington girls top tens included Liliana Hernandez third, and Madalyn Roundy 10th. The Demons were third in 3D with a team score of 1089 as Cardinal won with an 1197. Top Washington girls finishers were Pierce runner-up with a 229 and four tens. Aryana Jones finished seventh and Madalyn Roundy ninth. For the boys Helfrich was 13th with a 189 and four tens.
