The Winfield-Mount Union girls’ basketball team is headed to Des Moines today for the State Tournament. Eighth-ranked WMU defeated No.13 North Mahaska 52-47 in the Class 1A Region 8 final, securing their place in this year’s state tournament. Winfield-Mount Union will play in the Class 1A state quarterfinals against No. 3 ranked North Linn tonight.
