Voters residing in the Lone Tree Community School District are encouraged to cast their vote in the special election on Tuesday, March 7. The public measure being considered would adopt a revenue purpose statement, authorizing the expenditure of certain funds received by the district.

According to language on the ballot, revenue received by the Lone Tree Community School District from the State of Iowa Secure an Advanced Vision for Education Fund may be spent for multiple purposes. These include, but are not limited to providing funds for property tax relief, funds to build and furnish a new school building or buildings, and funds to purchase or lease buildings, equipment, or technology to repair transportation equipment for transporting students. There are a total of 10 different purposes laid out in the full ballot.

Voters can cast their ballot at the Lone Tree American Legion at 300 N. Devoe Street. Polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. To read the ballot in its entirety, click here.
