lone-tree-3

The Lone Tree Lions were one of the best teams in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference during the second half of the girls’ basketball season, and after turning a losing record into 13 wins, Lone Tree picks up five all-conference selections in the Super Conference North.

The lone first-team choice for the Lions is also the only freshman in the North to make the first team this season, Finley Jacque. Thanks to a dominant stretch of play in her final 10 games, Jacque finished fifth in the conference in scoring, steals and three-point shooting percentage. Jacque hit the third-most triples in the league while shooting over 38 percent from deep and averaging 14 points and three steals per game.

Lone Tree’s only senior, Riley Krueger, makes the second team after putting up nearly seven-and-a-half points, three-and-a-half rebounds and two steals a game. Sophomore point guard Vivian Zaruba affected all areas of the game, averaging nearly six points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per contest on her way to second-team honors.

Honorable mention went to Lions freshman forward Allyson Ford, who had the fourth-most blocked shots in the conference and pulled down 5.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore Rylee Shield led the team with six rebounds a game and also earns an all-conference honorable mention.
