A number of area high school track & field teams descended on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and started getting warmed up for the upcoming outdoor season by taking part in the annual A.D. Dickinson Relays Monday and Tuesday at the UNI-Dome.
Washington sent both its girls and boys’ teams to the Dickinson Relays but had just one top-10 finish. Demon senior Grace Voss ended up ninth in the girls’ high jump, clearing five feet even. The best Washington boys’ finish belonged to senior Cameron Vongpanya, who was 25th in the 400-meter race.
A pair of Southeast Iowa Super Conference teams sent just their boys for the events on Tuesday. The Columbus Wildcats were led by a winner, senior Triston Miller, who took the 60-meter hurdles in 8.22 seconds. Junior Kaden Amigon was sixth in the 200-meter dash, ninth in the long jump and tenth in the 60-meter sprint. Winfield-Mount Union junior Cam Buffington took seventh in the long jump as the top finish for the Wolves.
