There were few better this season than the Mid-Prairie boys basketball team at taking advantage of free chances at the line. The Golden Hawks finished the year shooting a collective 71.5% at the free throw line, third best in Class 2A. That number is also a new Mid-Prairie record.

Three Golden Hawks shot better than 75% at the line individually, led by senior Alex Bean’s 85.1%, ninth best in the state. Bean also put his own name into the record books, knocking down an unprecedented 27 consecutive free throws, breaking Kelby Bender, Class of 1991’s previous record of 19.

Senior Camron Pickard finished at 80.6%, third in the River Valley and sophomore Brady Weber shot 76.7%, sixth in the RVC.

The Golden Hawks finished the year with a 12-11 overall record.
