severe-weather-risks

Several members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team attended a severe weather spotter training held by the National Weather Service Quad Cities Office Tuesday evening. These free annual trainings cover how to identify severe thunderstorms, and tornadoes, as well as the up and down drafts of a thunderstorm, shelf and wall clouds, and flash floods. The class also covers the spectrum of different kinds of thunderstorms, how to spot storms safely, and the best ways to report storms and damage to the National Weather Service. Whenever a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning is issued for Washington County, listen to live coverage provided by the KCII Severe Weather Action Team.
