PAWS & More Animal Shelter in Washington now has land for their new shelter. At the Washington City Council meeting last week, the agenda stated approving a purchase agreement for Lot 7 of the Business Park with PAWS & More. KCII News spoke with shelter Director Amber Talbot about the purchase. “It’s been in the works for a while, and now that it’s official, it seems almost surreal. It’s big news to everyone because we’ve been, you know if it hasn’t been public knowledge really, but because you know it’s one of those things, you want to wait until it happens to share it.” The purchase agreement for Lot 7 is for $130,000, with the City pledging $20,000 towards the project, which will reduce the price to be paid to $110,000 for PAWS & More. The next steps for the shelter include the official beginning of their capital campaign for the new building.
