The Hillcrest Academy boys and girls track teams got the indoor season underway last week with a trip to Kuyper Fieldhouse in Pella for the Central College Indoor Championships.

Freshman Owen Scott had a big day in his first career competition for the Ravens. He posted a pair of top tens, placing runner-up in the high jump, clearing 6’0″, and fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19’3.5″. Other top Raven boys performances included Jesse Blossom 29th in the 800 and 30th in the mile, Scott 49th in the 200 and 81st in the 60m dash.

For the Raven girls, Delaney Shaw had the top performance, going 15th in the long jump, clearing 13’7.75″. She was also 35th in the 400, and 86th in the 200. Morgan Nafziger was 31st in the 60m dash, 45th in shot and 106th in the 200. Erin Bontrager finished 103rd in the 60m and 137th in the 200.
