The Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams wrap up the short indoor season tonight when they travel to the University of Dubuque for the River Valley Conference Indoor Championship meet.

Both teams have competed once this year with each taking part in the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Indoor State Championship meets in Ames last week. The Mid-Prairie boys had eight top tens including Cain Brown third in the high jump, getting over 6’5″. He was seventh in the 60m hurdles in 8.96 seconds. Emmett Swartzentruber took fifth in the two mile in 10:20.23. Jayse Yoder was sixth in the mile in 4:49.05. Burke Berry represented the throwing crew, going 10th in the shot put at 41’5.5″.

In relay events, the Mid-Prairie distance medley team of Landon Sullivan, Gentry Bontrager, Kaden Meader and Jayse Yoder were runners-up in 3:49.55. The shuttle hurdle team of Landry Gingerich, Matthew Troyer, Kaden Meader and Brayden Hartley were eighth in 40.92 seconds, and the 4×800 team of Emmett Swartzentruber, Preston Yutzy, Thomas Flynn and Jacob Donaldson were ninth in 9:07.10. Mid-Prairie finished seventh in Class 2A. They finished fifth at this event last year.

The Golden Hawk girls had three top ten finishes on the day, led by Danielle Hostetler taking fourth in the 1500m run in 4:58.11. She was also seventh in the 3000 at 10:35.72. Tabitha Evans was seventh in the 400m with her time of 1:00.73. They finished fourth at this event last year.

Joining Mid-Prairie tonight are Iowa City Regina, West Branch, West Liberty, Tipton, Wilton, Durant, Anamosa, Cascade, Monticello, Dyersville Beckman, Maquoketa, Northeast Goose Lake, Camanche and Bellevue. Action begins at 4:30p.m. and continues into the evening at the A.Y. McDonald Indoor Track facility in Dubuque.
