Sigourney Savages junior Carly Goodwin had a marvelous girls’ basketball season, and she picks up another postseason honor for her efforts. Goodwin has been voted by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association onto the Class 1A All-Region Team in Region 8.

The junior guard was a vital part of Sigourney’s late-season push, including an eight-game winning streak prior to their season-ending defeat at the hands of North Mahaska. During that streak, Goodwin averaged nearly 15 points, four rebounds and four steals per game.

For the season, Goodwin put up just under 12 points, four rebounds and three-and-a-half steals per contest, guiding the Savages to a 16-8 record and a tie for fourth place in the South Iowa Cedar League.
