More postseason honors are rolling in for WACO Warriors girls’ basketball star Ellah Kissell. The senior has been voted to the All-Region 8 team in Class 1A by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association. It’s no surprise why this recognition comes, as Kissell finished the season as the fourth-highest-scoring player in the state in 1A, averaging 22 points per game. Kissell also had the third-most field-goal attempts and fourth-most made baskets in 1A.

But Kissell was more than just a scoring sensation. She also averaged nearly seven rebounds, three assists, four steals and one blocked shot per contest. Kissell ended up third in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North in both assists and blocks while also finishing second in the conference in steals. Her first all-region selection comes as Kissell leads WACO to 18 wins and their first winning record since 2015.
