The Washington County Board of Supervisors made a decision during their meeting Tuesday to participate in the National Opioid Settlement The Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) executive board brought to all Iowa Counties’ attention. The lawsuit is against Teva, Allergen, CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart. Supervisor Richard Young has been involved during the process and had this to say,  “With this agreement, signing this, the five agreements. It would total four hundred and twenty-seven thousand nine hundred and thirty-five dollars, and thirty-one cents is what we would get, and it goes by population. ”  The board voted unanimously to have Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer sign and send the settlement documents. The due date to have the documents turned in to the state to be eligible for the payout is April 18th.
