The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. On the agenda was a petition regarding the relocation of various Washington County offices to the Orchard Hill Complex. Members of the Washington Community and County have signed the petition, and some of those members were in attendance at the meeting. Community members had the opportunity to address the board directly with their concerns. The board was then able to reply to these concerns. After some discussion, supervisor Jack Seward, Jr. made a suggestion for the parties involved. “I’d like to suggest, what I think is a better idea. If you folks want to have a big public conversation about this, a public hearing is not the best way to do it. Because in a public hearing we’re constrained by keeping control and then the conversation. So my suggestion is for you folks, to get yourself together, find a place and a time, and say we’re going to have a public meeting, where we can have a conversation. And then invite us. If we all decide as a board to come there then that will become an official, public meeting of the Board of Supervisors.” Washington Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Michelle Redlinger stated that the Chamber would facilitate this meeting between the Supervisors and the public.
