A pair of stellar individual performances led the way for an impressive WACO boys’ soccer victory, as the Warriors knocked off Wapello 9-2 yesterday in Wayland. Already leading 3-1 at halftime, WACO exploded for double that amount of goals in the final 40 minutes to win with authority.
Two different Warriors finished with hat tricks. Sophomore Keiran Luitjens and freshman Tristan Luitjens not only had three goals each, but they also combined for seven assists. Freshmen Raefe Davidson and Niles Reichenbach also scored as WACO earns back-to-back wins since dropping its season opener. The Warriors will look for another Southeast Iowa Super Conference win when they next host Mediapolis on Thursday.
