The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. On the agenda was a proclamation regarding National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Supervisor Jack Seward, Jr. read the proclamation. “National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week came out a week ago. It was very timely because of the importance that we saw during the March 31 series of tornadoes that passed through Washington County. The radio system, and those folks, communicators that operate that system, I think, need to be commended. They need to be, I think everybody needs to give them a word of thanks and praise. So I suggested that because it was telecommunicators week, I asked that the proclamation be made.” The board voted unanimously to accept this proclamation and declared the week of April 10th through 14th as national public safety telecommunicators week in Washington County.
