The Keota Eagle golf team is rolling through conference play, winning a head-to-head meet and finishing second in a triangular against South Iowa Cedar League rivals. The head-to-head victory came Tuesday in Oskaloosa, with Keota posting a team score of 167 that was 24 strokes better than HLV. Eagle junior Cole Kindred was the meet medalist, shooting a three-over-par 39, with senior teammate Carsin Kindred only two strokes behind. Junior Sawyer Stout finished with a 42, while senior Aidan Anderson fired a 45 and senior Caden Sprouse and sophomore Bille Kindred both shot 48.

Keota put together a couple more solid rounds Monday at Montezuma, but it was not enough to beat the Braves’ team score of 153, which was 18 strokes better than the Eagles. Stout finished in a tie for second after shooting 38, while Cole Kindred posted a 42. Carsin Kindred fired a 45, which was one stroke better than Billie Kindred. Sprouse shot 47, and Anderson added a 50. Keota returns to its home course Monday against BGM.
