The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls track team had a big night Thursday, bringing home the team championship from the Tipton Tigrette Relays. The Hawks posted an impressive 196 points in the win, nearly doubling up second place Tipton’s 104. Mid-Prairie won eight event championships at Tipton including Danielle Hostetler going double gold in the 800 with a time of 2:26.45 and the 1500 in 4:54.10. Tabitha Evans was the 400 winner in 1:01.04. Ella Groenewold won high jump gold, clearing the bar at 4’10”. Sophia Schwartz was long jump champ with a leap of 15’2″. In relay events, the Mid-Prairie sprint medley team of Madeline Schrader, Dakota Mitchell, Jovi Evans, and Greta Sieren beat the field in 1:55.97. The 4×100 team of Schrader, Amara Jones, Jovi and Tabitha Evans were winners in 50.81 seconds, the 4×200 team of Schrader, Jones, Evans and Mitchell were champs in 1:51.16 and the distance medley of Schrader, Jones, Sieren and Hostetler were best in 4:18.65.

Runner-up finishes included Tabitha Evans in the 200, Abby Fleming in the 1500 and 3000 and the 4×400 team of Sieren, Hostetler, Annika Poll and Tabitha Evans. Harper Pacha was third in the discus and shot put, Jovi Evans was third in the 100 and Phoebe Shetler was third in the 3000. The Hawks are next in action Tuesday at the Co-Ed Golden Hawk Relays at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.
