The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed the approval of the Washington County Secondary Roads Department five year road plan at their last meeting. County Engineer Jacob Thorius explains what the five-year road plan entails. “The five-year road plan is our guidance in terms of what we are doing for projects, it does not mean that is what we are going to do at that time frame. Lots of things happen; for example, issues acquiring right of way, weather, increased cost can delay projects, and projects can shift around. This is a guidance system that helps us work through in getting projects developed.” The Supervisors approved the Secondary Roads five-year road plan unanimously. Some of the plans for the next year include pavement patching in various locations throughout Washington County. As well as Highway 1 intersection paving on different parts of Highway 1 and Highway 92.
