Two of Washington Demon boys’ track and field best athletes were at their best Tuesday at the Panther Relays in Mount Pleasant. Senior Brayden Hartman picked up another pair of throwing victories, winning the discus throw with a top toss of 139-and-a-half feet and taking the title in the shot put at 56 feet four-and-a-half inches. Junior Micah Rees was also the winner in the 3,200-meter run, finishing in a time of nine minutes 48 seconds.

The Demons also were victorious in the distance medley relay, posting a top time of 3:43. Washington’s relay teams were runner-up in the four-by-100 and four-by-200-meters, as well as the sprint medley and the shuttle hurdles. Rees was also a runner-up in the 1,600 meters, while senior Ethan Patterson was third in the high jump and sophomores Keider Gomez-Valdez and Tyler Alderton were fourth in the 100 and 3,200, respectively.

The Demons added a fourth-place finish in the 4-by-800 to their last meet before final qualifying for the Drake Relays took place yesterday, with results to be finalized this weekend. Washington boys’ track will get back in action Monday at Burlington.
