The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track team had their final meet before the Drake cutoff when they traveled to the Cardinal Invitiational in Newton Thursday. The Hawks were fourth of 15 schools with 68 points. ADM won the meet with 188. Mid-Prairie had four event championships on the night. Jayden Stafford swept his three events, winning the wheelchair 100, 200 and 400s with times of 18.53 seconds, 33.85 seconds and 1:07.13 respectively. Cain Brown was the long jump winner, hitting the blue standard for Drake with his leap of 22′.5″. Other top finishes for Mid-Prairie included Kaden Meader runner-up in the 400 and second for the 4×800 of Blake Creed, Emmett Swartzentruber, Preston Yutzy and Jayse Yoder. Burke Berry was third in each of the discus and shot put. The Golden Hawk boys are back in action Tuesday at Anamosa.
