The boil order issued for the City of Ainsworth earlier this week remains in effect until further notice. Emergency repairs were required after the Ainsworth Water Supply Well was struck by lightning.
Ainsworth residents are advised that boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation while the order continues. Boiling water for at least one minute kills any bacteria or other organisms in the water. Tap water may still be used for bathing and other similar purposes.
For more information on the boil order while it is in effect, contact Water Operator, Brian Portwood, at 319-936-4189, or City Clerk, Cheryl Smith, at 563-260-2791. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
