The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time School Resource Deputy for the Columbus Community School District. The position is for this year, with a second projected Deputy position in early 2024.

Starting pay on July 1 is $26.83 to $34.24 per hour and based on experience, education, and certification. A 10% raise will be given on July 1, 2024. The position will be a Monday-Friday day shift duty assignment, and a summer second shift schedule, with rotating weekends off.

Current certified law enforcement officers will not need to conduct a physical test or written exam. However, there is a physical agility test scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 13 at the Wapello High School track.
