The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls golf teams defended their home course in Kalona Thursday, knocking off visiting Louisa-Muscatine in a pair of non-conference duals. The boys were a 183-207 winner. The Hawks were led by a 44 from Drew Schlabaugh. He spoke after the meet with KCII Sports about his day. “I thought my driving really improved. I thought my wedges were fine. On one, I had a pretty good drive and pretty chip then the putt was the best part. It just rolled in. Consistency has been good. I’ve been playing pretty well over the last week or so and the numbers are decreasing and that’s always good.”
Other cards for the Hawks included Clayton Davidson and Warren Scarff with 45s, Byrce Henry 48, Aiden Busch 52 and Alex Bean 53.
The Golden Hawk girls completed the clean sweep with their score of 192. Kylie Reinier led Mid-Prairie with her career best 44. She spoke with KCII Sports after the meet about her night. “All the whole blended together really nice. I was either getting birdie or par most of the night. I feel like it all came together nicely. My game was just really on point. My drives, then I could just execute each one of my shots from there. Putting was also working today. I’m very pleased with my performance.”
Other Hawks included Madi Davidson and Gabi Robertson with 49s, Elliot Debler 50, Addison English 51, and Alexa Huber 52.
Both Mid-Prairie teams are off until their River Valley Conference meets next week.
