The final postseason prep work will come tonight for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk golf teams when they take on the Durant Wildcats in their final River Valley Conference duals of the season. The Mid-Prairie girls are fresh off of an RVC championship at the conference meet in Muscatine Wednesday, shooting a team score 389, to beat Dyersville-Beckman by one stroke. All six Mid-Prairie players were named All-River Valley, led by a third and fourth place finish for Kylie Reinier and Addison English, as they earned Elite All-Conference status. Mid-Prairie comes into Monday with a 23-6 mark this year. They have a team average of 197 per nine holes led by Gabi Robertson’s 47. Durant was 11th of 14 teams at the RVC meet with a 488, led by Lauren Callison’s 103. The Wildcats average 245 per nine with Callison’s 59 best. Durant won this dual last year 210-219.
The Mid-Prairie boys were 10th at the RVC Championships in Solon last week, shooting a team score 354, led by an 87 from Bryce Henry for 31st individually. This year, the Hawks have a 20-14 overall record, with a 198 average per nine holes led by Henry’s 49. Durant is 15-25 this season. They were fifth at the RVC meet in Solon with a team score 341, led by Collier Rockow’s round of 79 for sixth. This year the ‘Cats have a nine-hole average of 220 with Rockow’s 47 best on the team. Mid-Prairie won this dual a season ago 192-221. Action in both contests starts at 4p.m. this evening with the girls in Kalona and the boys at Wahkonsa Country Club.
